This module focuses on providing primary care providers(PCPs) with “common skills” - interviewing/counseling skills that can be usedto facilitate an effective mental health conversation with children/families.

Describe interactive skills that can effectivelyand efficiently identify mental health needs during regular patient visits.
Discuss strategies to help prioritize concernsand provide immediate relief to patients for a wide range of commonlyencountered mental health issues.
Formulate a mutually agreeable plan withchildren\youth and their families for next steps in their diagnoses andtreatment.
